These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Galdr Study application, its learning content, account services, and related services (together, the “Service”). They explain the agreement between you and the operator identified below, including the nature of the content, account responsibilities, purchases, cancellation, and your rights.

Galdr Study is an educational and cultural exploration service. It presents mythology, folklore, traditional wisdom, esoteric traditions, and related interpretations. It does not promise supernatural results or provide professional medical, psychological, legal, financial, or other regulated advice. Your mandatory rights as a consumer remain protected.

1 Who provides the Service

The Service is provided by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME], trading as Galdr Study, at [FULL POSTAL ADDRESS AND COUNTRY] (“Galdr Study”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

Support and legal notices: support@galdr.study.
Privacy enquiries: support@galdr.study.
Website: https://galdr.study.
[INSERT BUSINESS REGISTRATION NUMBER, TAX DETAILS, AND TELEPHONE OR OTHER TRADER CONTACT DETAILS WHERE REQUIRED.]

Where you make a purchase through Apple App Store or Google Play, the store’s role in billing, the identity of the seller or merchant shown at checkout, and the store’s transaction terms also apply. These Terms do not misidentify us as the payment processor for a transaction handled by a store.

2 Accepting these Terms

We make these Terms available before you accept them. By selecting the applicable acceptance control when creating an account or beginning use of the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not complete that acceptance or use features that require the agreement. You may keep a copy for your records.

The purchase description and the price, billing period, renewal conditions, and features shown at checkout form part of the terms of that purchase. Any additional terms for a particular offer must be presented before you accept it. Mandatory law prevails over conflicting wording in these Terms.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal information. Acceptance of these Terms is not a blanket consent to analytics, sensitive-data processing, or other activities requiring a separate choice. Any optional permissions are handled through the relevant privacy controls.

3 Eligibility and use by younger people

You must be at least [MINIMUM USER AGE] to use the Service. You must also have the legal capacity to enter this agreement or, where legally permitted, have the involvement and authorisation of a parent or legal guardian required by your local law.

If a parent or guardian accepts these Terms for a permitted younger user, that adult is responsible for the authorisation and supervision required by law and for purchases they approve. This does not override a store’s parental controls or payment-authorisation requirements.

A store age rating describes content suitability and does not automatically determine contractual capacity or the age at which someone can consent to processing personal information. If applicable law does not permit your use, do not create an account or make a purchase.

4 What Galdr Study offers

Galdr Study offers structured learning activities, questions, explanations, and progress tracking concerning Norse and Celtic traditions and related subjects. Courses may address the Hávamál, runes, galdr, Irish wisdom literature, ogham, mythology, symbolism, folklore, and traditional practices. Available courses and features are those actually described in the app or the relevant purchase offer.

The Service may include free content and separately identified paid content or subscriptions. Availability can vary by platform, language, country, app version, and purchase. A statement about a possible future course or feature is not a promise that it is included in a present purchase unless we expressly identify it as part of that offer.

Progress indicators, scores, streaks, virtual rewards, and achievements support learning within the app. They have no cash value, are not investments, and do not establish a professional qualification, academic credit, religious standing, or recognised certification unless an offer expressly and accurately states otherwise.

5 Mythology tradition and interpretation

The Service draws on publicly available historical and literary sources, folklore, scholarly discussion, and material associated with esoteric or initiatory traditions. It may also include modern reconstruction, interpretation, symbolism, and original teaching material. These sources do not all have the same age, reliability, purpose, or historical status.

References to “secret knowledge”, “ancient wisdom”, “magic”, ritual, gods, spirits, sacred objects, or similar concepts describe the cultural, mythological, symbolic, or esoteric framework of the content. They are not guarantees that a teaching has a provable ancient origin, represents an unbroken historical lineage, has scientific validation, or can produce a supernatural effect.

Some original sources are fragmentary, contradictory, poetic, or preserved long after the events and practices they describe. Translations and interpretations can differ. A lesson may simplify a topic for teaching purposes, and an exercise’s expected answer reflects the interpretation taught in that lesson rather than a claim that no other scholarly or traditional interpretation exists.

We aim to present the material responsibly and correct material errors brought to our attention. Unless expressly supported and stated, we do not claim endorsement by a religious organisation, cultural community, academic institution, historical authority, or living tradition. Studying a tradition does not require accepting its beliefs.

Nothing in this section excuses misleading commercial claims or removes your rights if paid content materially fails to match its description. Public availability of a source also does not automatically mean that a modern translation, photograph, illustration, or edition is free of copyright.

6 No professional advice or promised outcome

The Service provides general educational, cultural, reflective, and entertainment content. It does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment, psychotherapy, counselling, legal services, financial or investment advice, or other regulated professional services. Using the Service does not create a doctor-patient, therapist-client, lawyer-client, fiduciary, or equivalent professional relationship.

Do not use a lesson, symbolic interpretation, personal reflection, or traditional practice as the basis for a decision requiring qualified professional advice. Consult an appropriately qualified professional for your circumstances. Do not delay appropriate care or disregard professional advice because of material in the Service.

We do not guarantee healing, protection, luck, predictions, financial benefit, relationship outcomes, spiritual attainment, or any other supernatural or real-world result. We also do not guarantee a particular learning result or that completion of a course demonstrates competence to teach, advise, or perform a practice for others.

The Service is not an emergency service, and messages sent to us are not continuously monitored. If immediate assistance is needed, contact the appropriate emergency or professional service. These statements describe the purpose of the Service and do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7 Practical activities and personal safety

A historical description of an activity is not an instruction to reproduce it. If you independently choose to undertake a craft, outdoor activity, voice exercise, or symbolic practice discussed in a course, use appropriate instruction, equipment, supervision, and ordinary safety precautions for that activity.

Do not treat traditional references to plants, substances, fasting, fire, blades, or physical exertion as evidence that those activities or materials are safe for you. The app is not a plant-identification, toxicology, survival, or practical safety authority. Do not ingest an unknown substance, stop prescribed treatment, trespass, damage a site, or harm yourself, another person, an animal, or the environment in order to follow a lesson.

You may skip an activity or stop using content that makes you uncomfortable. Respect applicable laws, property rights, protected cultural sites, and the beliefs and boundaries of other people. Nothing in these Terms requires you to accept responsibility for harm caused by our conduct where the law places responsibility on us.

8 Your account and sign-in

You may sign in using a supported Google or Apple account. Use an account you are authorised to use and keep the information needed to contact you reasonably accurate. You are responsible for protecting access to your device and sign-in account and for notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

Do not impersonate another person, use another person’s account without permission, or transfer or sell your Galdr Study account. These restrictions do not prevent family access expressly permitted by a store’s rules or a feature we make available for that purpose.

We may require proportionate verification before changing account access, restoring purchases, exporting personal information, or acting on a deletion request. We do not require you to disclose your Google or Apple password to us.

If a sign-in provider becomes unavailable or you revoke its access, some account functions may be affected. Contact support for available recovery options. Access to a sign-in account and access to the store account used for payment are separate matters and may need to be verified separately.

9 Answers progress and synchronisation

The Service records the answers and learning activity needed to provide feedback and saved progress. Information can be held on your device and in cloud systems as described in the Privacy Policy. When synchronisation is supported, changes may be uploaded or downloaded when your device reconnects.

Unsynchronised information can be lost if you clear device storage, uninstall the app, lose a device, or switch accounts. Network failures and conflicting updates can also delay or affect synchronisation. We use reasonable care in providing the Service, but do not promise uninterrupted synchronisation or that every device-only record can be recovered.

You may report incorrect scores, missing progress, or an entitlement problem to support. We may correct genuine technical or content errors, including recalculating affected learning states. A correction is not intended to deprive you of paid access or any legal remedy.

The app is not intended to be the sole archive of material that is critical to you. Any suggestion to keep a personal copy does not remove our own duties concerning security, service conformity, or the handling of your data.

10 Your content and communications

You retain any rights you hold in original text, answers, messages, and other material you submit (“Your Content”). We do not claim ownership of your personal reflections. You are responsible for having the rights needed to submit the material and for avoiding unlawful disclosure of another person’s private information.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, copy, transmit, and display Your Content only as needed to provide the features you request, synchronise your information, respond to you, and meet the lawful obligations described in the Privacy Policy. This includes necessary processing by our service providers acting for those purposes.

This licence does not authorise us to publish your private answers, sell them, use them in advertising, or turn them into public course material without a separate lawful basis and any necessary permission. It ends when the content is deleted from our systems, except for limited lawful retention and the technical expiry of restricted backups.

If you voluntarily send product suggestions, we may consider and implement the ideas without an obligation to pay you merely for making the suggestion. This does not transfer ownership of your independently protected work or permit publication of your identity or private correspondence. Confidential commercial proposals should be discussed with us before you disclose them.

11 Licence to use the Service

Subject to these Terms and any applicable store licence, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Service for your own lawful, personal, non-commercial learning. The right lasts while you remain entitled to use the relevant features. Paid access is limited to the products, duration, and platform coverage stated when purchased.

We and our licensors retain rights in the app’s original software, course arrangement, original explanatory text, artwork, audio, branding, and other protected material. We do not claim exclusive ownership of ancient myths, historical facts, traditional symbols as such, or works genuinely in the public domain.

You may not commercially redistribute our protected course material, resell access, remove rights notices, or present our original content as your own. Restrictions in these Terms do not override lawful quotation, fair use or fair dealing, statutory exceptions, rights in public-domain material, or permissions granted under a third-party or open-source licence.

Third-party software components may have separate licence notices. Where those licences grant you rights beyond these Terms, the applicable third-party licence governs those components.

12 Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to break the law, infringe another person’s rights, threaten or harass others, submit malware, obtain unauthorised access, interfere with security, or intentionally disrupt the Service.

You must not bypass payment or access controls, falsify transactions, exploit a technical error to obtain paid access without authorisation, or use automated requests in a way that materially burdens the Service. Reverse engineering or technical analysis is restricted only to the extent permitted by applicable law and relevant software licences; these Terms do not prohibit activities that the law protects.

Do not submit information that you have no right to disclose. Report a suspected security issue responsibly to the contact in Section 1 and avoid accessing other users’ information. We assess alleged misuse reasonably and apply the suspension and termination provisions below.

13 Prices and in-app purchases

Before you buy, the relevant purchase screen identifies the product, price, currency, billing interval, included access, and any trial or introductory conditions. Taxes and other charges are displayed or handled as required by the store and applicable law. Prices may differ by country, platform, currency, or offer.

Your payment is processed through the store or other payment method expressly identified at checkout. For Apple or Google in-app purchases, the store controls the payment process and provides the applicable receipt. RevenueCat may help us verify the transaction and manage entitlement to paid features; it does not replace the store’s payment relationship with you.

We do not state that every purchase transfers between platforms. Cross-device or cross-platform access is available only where supported by the product and account arrangement described in the offer. Use the supported restore-purchase function or contact us if a valid purchase is not reflected in the app.

A one-time purchase provides the access expressly described at checkout. It does not automatically include all future courses, new products, subscription-only services, or perpetual operation of online infrastructure. We will not use this provision to remove access contrary to a clear purchase promise or your mandatory rights.

14 Subscriptions renewal and trials

If you purchase an auto-renewing subscription, you authorise recurring charges for the billing period and price displayed at checkout, subject to any applicable price-change requirements. The subscription renews until you cancel it through the relevant store or purchasing channel. The renewal date and current status are shown in that channel.

If a free trial or introductory offer is provided, the offer explains its duration, eligibility, the amount charged afterwards, and whether it converts into a paid subscription. Where it converts automatically, cancel before the stated deadline if you do not want the paid period to begin. For Apple free or discounted trials, Apple advises cancellation at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

Cancellation ordinarily prevents the next renewal. Access normally continues until the end of the paid period, subject to the store’s rules, an applicable refund, or a lawful termination. Trial access can end earlier under the trial terms. These rules do not limit a statutory withdrawal or refund right.

We give required notice of price or material subscription changes. Where affirmative agreement is required, a new price will not be applied without it. You may cancel renewal if you do not accept a proposed change. A displayed change does not retroactively alter the price of a period already purchased.

15 How to cancel

For an Apple subscription, use the subscription management settings associated with the Apple Account that made the purchase. Apple’s instructions are available at support.apple.com/en-us/118428.

For a Google Play subscription, use the subscription management area associated with the Google Account that made the purchase. Google’s instructions are available at support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7018481.

Uninstalling the app, signing out, stopping lessons, or deleting your Galdr Study account does not by itself reliably cancel a store subscription. Cancel through the purchasing channel to stop renewal. If you cannot locate the purchase, check the store account shown on your receipt and contact us for assistance.

We do not require you to call us or negotiate with support in order to use a store’s cancellation controls. If a direct purchase channel is introduced, its cancellation method will be disclosed before purchase and must satisfy the applicable requirements.

16 Refunds withdrawal and consumer remedies

Ordinary cancellation of renewal does not automatically refund an already paid period. However, refunds may be available under store rules, the purchase terms, or applicable law. These Terms do not impose a blanket “no refunds” rule.

For a store purchase, use the store’s refund process where the store handles the refund. You may also contact us about a billing or service problem. We will provide reasonable assistance and fulfil our own legal obligations rather than directing every complaint elsewhere.

If applicable consumer law gives you a right to withdraw from a distance contract, that right remains available. In the EEA and UK, a 14-day withdrawal period commonly applies, subject to the type of contract and relevant exceptions. The start date and conditions depend on whether the purchase is legally treated as digital content, a digital service, or another service.

For digital content supplied before a withdrawal period ends, loss of that right requires the conditions prescribed by applicable law, including the necessary express request or consent, acknowledgement of the loss, and confirmation where required. Merely using the app or accepting these general Terms does not substitute for those steps. For a service started at your express request, proportionate payment rules or rules on full performance may apply instead.

You may communicate an applicable withdrawal using the designated store or purchase interface or an unequivocal statement to our contact in Section 1, identifying the purchase and your decision. This does not remove any required online withdrawal function or store remedy. We will explain the appropriate handling where the store is the contractual seller.

Separate rights may apply if digital content or a service is not supplied, is faulty, is materially different from its description, or lacks required updates. Available remedies can include correction, bringing the service into conformity, a price reduction, termination, or a refund. Nothing here reduces those remedies.

17 Changes to courses and the Service

We may make reasonable changes to improve teaching, correct errors, address security issues, maintain compatibility, comply with law, or respond to the loss of a necessary provider or content licence. We may add courses, update explanations, reorganise learning activities, or retire a feature for a valid reason.

For paid digital services, changes must comply with the purchase description and applicable law. We will not treat a general right to update the app as permission to materially reduce an active paid entitlement without the required notice and remedy. Where a change negatively affects your use beyond a minor degree, applicable rights to retain an unchanged version, terminate, or obtain a refund remain available.

When a material adverse change or planned discontinuation affects paid access, we will normally give at least 30 days’ advance notice, where practicable, and offer the remedy required by law or our purchase commitment. An urgent security or legal issue may require a faster change; we will explain it as soon as reasonably possible.

We provide updates required by applicable law and communicate relevant installation requirements. You are responsible for installing updates reasonably necessary for continued secure and compatible use after appropriate notice, subject to statutory protections.

18 Availability and third-party services

The Service depends on compatible devices, operating systems, connectivity, app stores, sign-in providers, and hosting infrastructure. We aim to keep it available but cannot promise continuous access or that every device or future operating-system version will be supported indefinitely. Planned maintenance, faults, and circumstances outside our reasonable control can cause interruptions.

Third-party websites and services linked from the app have their own terms. A link does not necessarily mean that we endorse their content. We remain responsible for the service obligations that the law places on us, including where we use suppliers to fulfil those obligations.

We take reasonable steps to limit disruption and restore access. If an interruption or loss of a feature triggers a legal remedy or makes an active purchase materially nonconforming, the applicable consumer protections continue to apply.

19 Account closure suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and request account deletion through the methods described in the Privacy Policy. Subscription cancellation is handled separately as explained above. We retain only information permitted under the Privacy Policy and applicable law after closure.

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address a security threat, unlawful activity, fraud, or a material breach of these Terms. Where practical and safe, we explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve a remediable issue before permanently terminating access.

We may act immediately when advance notice would create a security risk, expose another person’s information, prevent compliance with law, or permit serious continuing harm. We will provide an explanation afterwards unless law or a legitimate security need prevents it. You may ask us to review an action by contacting support.

A termination does not automatically entitle us to keep payment for services we have failed to provide. Refunds and other remedies depend on the circumstances and mandatory law. We do not impose automatic forfeiture of all paid access for a minor or disputed breach.

20 Warranties and responsibility

We provide the Service with the reasonable care and skill required by applicable law and in accordance with binding purchase descriptions. Our responsibilities for statutory conformity, necessary updates, and other mandatory consumer protections are not excluded.

Beyond express commitments and rights that cannot be excluded, we do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, entirely error-free, suitable for every personal purpose, or capable of producing a particular educational, spiritual, or practical outcome. To the extent legally permitted, other implied warranties are excluded.

Any reference to availability limitations or user responsibility must be read together with the protections in this section and Section 21. We do not use educational or entertainment disclaimers to excuse negligence, deception, or a failure to honour enforceable promises.

21 Limits on liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; intentional wrongdoing or gross negligence where such a limitation is unlawful; death or personal injury caused by negligence where liability cannot be excluded; a breach of mandatory consumer rights; or any other responsibility that cannot lawfully be limited. Statutory rights to compensation for unlawful processing of personal information remain unaffected.

Where the law permits, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the agreement was made, or for business losses arising from use outside the personal learning purpose for which the Service is supplied. This provision does not exclude a consumer loss merely because it can be described as indirect or consequential.

For claims to which a contractual cap may lawfully and fairly apply, our total liability arising from the same event or connected events is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the Service during the 12 months before the event and EUR 100, or its local-currency equivalent. This cap does not apply to the responsibilities in the first paragraph, refunds or remedies that must be provided by law, or any claim for which the cap would be unfair or unenforceable.

If a local law gives you more protection, that protection applies. You are not required by these Terms to indemnify us for our own wrongdoing or to pay an automatic penalty merely because you raise a complaint or pursue a legal right.

22 Apple and Google platform terms

For the version downloaded through Apple App Store, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement governs the software licence unless a separate custom EULA has been expressly supplied through the store. These Terms supplement the service relationship and are not presented as a replacement custom Apple EULA.

If there is a conflict concerning an Apple software-licensing matter, the applicable Apple EULA and mandatory store usage rules govern that matter, subject to mandatory law. Our additional commitments concerning the Service and consumer remedies are not withdrawn merely because a store licence also applies.

For the Google Play version, the applicable Google Play terms and purchase rules also apply. Use of either platform remains subject to its account and device rules. We provide support for Galdr Study; a store’s involvement in distribution does not make it the operator of our courses.

You must comply with applicable export-control and sanctions laws in connection with downloading and using the Service. This obligation applies only to laws that legally apply to you or the relevant transaction.

23 Complaints applicable law and courts

Please contact us using Section 1 if you have a complaint about content, access, billing, or these Terms. Include enough information to identify the issue, but do not send payment-card secrets or sign-in passwords. We will consider the complaint in good faith and respond within any applicable legal deadline.

Subject to mandatory consumer protections, these Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING COUNTRY OR JURISDICTION]. A choice of law does not deprive you of mandatory protection provided by the laws of your habitual residence where those laws apply.

You may bring proceedings in any court that has jurisdiction under applicable law, including courts available to you as a consumer in your home country where the law provides that right. We do not require binding private arbitration, waive your right to participate in a collective action where legally available, or require that every consumer bring a claim in our country.

Any applicable complaint, alternative dispute resolution, or regulator process remains available. Contacting us first is encouraged but is not a condition that prevents an urgent claim, a statutory complaint, or an expiring legal deadline.

24 Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms for valid reasons, such as a change in the Service, applicable law, security requirements, or commercial arrangements. We publish the revised version with its effective date. For material changes affecting your existing relationship, we give reasonable advance notice, normally at least 30 days where practicable.

Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights or alter a completed purchase contrary to applicable law. If a change requires express agreement, we will ask for it. We will not treat silence as acceptance where the law requires another form of assent.

If you do not accept a material change, you may stop using the affected Service and cancel renewal. Where the change affects an existing paid entitlement, any right to continued performance, termination, or reimbursement remains available. Urgent changes required by law or security may take effect sooner with appropriate notice.

25 General provisions

If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply where the agreement can lawfully operate without it. An unfair consumer term is not rewritten simply to preserve the same unfair effect.

A delay in enforcing a right does not automatically waive it. Any transfer of our contractual rights or obligations must not materially reduce your protection. We will provide any notice required for a business transfer. You may not transfer your account or agreement except where these Terms, the relevant store rules, or applicable law permit it.

These Terms, the applicable purchase information, and any properly disclosed feature-specific terms describe our agreement about the Service. They do not exclude liability for a binding pre-contractual representation or a mandatory information requirement. The Privacy Policy continues to govern the data practices it describes.

If translations are provided, we aim to keep them consistent. The English text may be used to resolve an ambiguity only where lawful; it does not override mandatory local-language requirements or a more favourable interpretation required by consumer law.

Provisions that by their nature must continue after the agreement ends, including accrued payment obligations, retained intellectual-property rights, lawful limits on liability, and dispute provisions, continue only to the extent necessary and lawful. Personal-information retention remains governed by the Privacy Policy, not by a general survival clause.
